Meet Bob:
If you’re an average homeowner in Anchorage, Bob has already saved you hundreds of dollars in property taxes. He’s one of the founding members of the grassroots organization, The Municipal Taxpayers League of Anchorage. He cosponsored Prop 9, the Tax Cap Initiative, April 2009, which passed with over 60% of the vote and currently saves Anchorage taxpayers over $17 million per year. During the Prop 9 campaign, Bob spearheaded also the effort that collected over 11,000 signatures in 19 days.
Bob has over 20 years of public service in many leadership positions as a U.S. Air Force fighter pilot, test pilot, and instructor pilot. He is a current member of the AFL-CIO as a commercial airline pilot.
Bob has a bachelor’s degree in Aeronautics, cum laude, from Embry-Riddle University.
Bob has traveled the world during his military career but has chosen Alaska to raise his family, where his roots are deep. Bob’s great-grandparents arrived in Alaska on January 1st, 1899, during the Klondike Gold Rush in Skagway and his family has been here ever since. Bob has been married for 28 years and has two adult daughters who are graduates of the Anchorage School District.
